Baby Mine

Taris Lynn Rae
January 31, 2003
7:11 pm
7lbs 6½oz, 18 ¾"
Hard to believe that on Wednesday it will be 4 years since Taris was born. Counting up to the day she was born I thought I knew, but really I didn't have a clue... Just how much on small little baby can absolutely change your life, turn it upside down if you will. She was the most beautiful baby I had ever seen (isn't everyone's child?) I couldn't believe how perfect she was, how sweet, how innocent. That's why people start as babies, or we may not keep them!
Taris has been a spirited child right from the start. She made me question everything I did...she did not do things according to all the books. Though sometimes I wondered what the heck I was supossed to do, she could make it all better with one little smile or giggle.
Terrible twos were...terrible...how could she be more stubborn than me? The trying threes were...trying...we are now heading into the Fantastic fours and just going on the preview we've had the past couple months, I can't wait!
Though growing up, to me Taris will always be my baby.

Exercise makes you hungry

I'm convinced. Exercise makes you HUNGRY! Really, where's the fairness in that? You try to do the right thing (exercise) and you counteract it with food! (at least i do) Every Tuesday and Thursday I faithfully attend my one hour exercise class. Every Tuesday and Thursday AFTER the class I'm STARVED. 'Just eat raw veggies' is one person's advice...'Salad' is another's. As if!!!! I need carbs! Honestly, if I don't have it planned so supper's ready right when I walk in the door you better not be a chip or cracker in my house because I will eat you.

Most people I know are always trying to 'eat healthier' and get into shape. I have no problem with the exercise part, doesn't bother me a bit (although i tend to lack motivation unless it's a class or something) It's the eating. I can eat healthy meals, but the snacking kills me. Even after volleyball we will quite often stop at the bar for munchies. It's just as fact...exercise makes you hungry. No, not hungry, STARVING.

But I will continue to try and lead the healthier lifestyle. I'll just have to make sure those chips are well hidden!

Where did the holidays go??

Hope everyone is recovering from their holidays! We had a wonderful Christmas (saw lots of relatives and friends!) and a great New Year's. On Dec. 29 8 adults and 6 kids took off to Minneapolis for 5 days. The trip down was a little hairy off the start, but was smooth sailing after the air filter was cleaned out lol! We met with one more adult and 4 more kids once we arrived, so needless to say we had a busy, but fun, time! Here are a few pics from Christmas and New Year's.

Santa definitely came to the Rae house!

Skating at the outdoor oval in Brandon...so much fun!

Seeing taris on the 'frog hopper' the first time...hilarious. As soon as it started coming down she was holding on for dear life!

Skating at the rink hooked on to our hotel. Very nice...and warm!

Taris and Cade having a 'New Year's' dance.

All the kids at the hotel.
