It's a beautiful day here today...+6!!! So, with it being so nice out i figured we better get out and walk...won't be many more chances. the girls and I got our gear on and off we went, taris walking, Darcie in the stroller and of course Higgins, walking/dragging/running/tripping along side. Higgins hasn't quite mastered the whole leash concept yet. He finds it very fun to chew, get twisted in and strangled by it, just hasn't figured out how to gracefully walk with it yet.
We weren't 10 yards from our house yet when taris fell, so now she is soaked and dirty! Oh well, we keep going (it bothers her mother more than her) As we walked I try my hardest to miss the puddles. Higgins on the other hand, strolls right on through. Now, being only 4" off the ground it's pretty much impossible for him to stay dry and clean. i could've stopped there, turned around and went home, but why would I do that...Darcie was still dry! So we kept going, taris walking in EVERY puddle she could possibly find, while throwing snowballs at poor little Higgins. Needless to say he was one wet puppy! We made it almost home before darcie decided to crawl OUT of the stroller. You can't crawl out of our stroller, your head gets stuck, which she found out. But not before making sure her pants were nice and dirty (wet) as well!
We made it home, leaving pants at the door. Higgins is now a CLEAN, wet puppy as he had to have a bath (which is funny in itself). Darcie is sleeping and taris has dry pants on.
I've learned not to get too worked up about the puddle thing. There was a time when the kids were strictly forbidden to walk in the puddles (even though they did anyway), and if they did, look out! As your kids get older you have to tell yourself not to worry about the trivial little things (harder sometimes than others) or you will drive yourself crazy! That goes for puppies too...there's nothing more hilarious than watching a pug puppy try to drink the water running from the tap!
I think I will go and make hot chocolate for taris and I. I may even let her help!
