wonder of a child

"While we try to teach our children all about life, our children teach us what life is all about"

"Whatever they grow up to be, they are still our children, and the one most important of all things we can give to them is unconditional love. Not a love that depends on anything at all except that they are our children"

the party's over

The birthday party that is! It seems every year Taris' birthday celebration lasts at least a week. This year was no exception. It started last Saturday when Larrie's Grandma and Grandpa came for a visit bearing presents. That was the start of the 'are there more presents?' week. On her actual birthday (last Wed.) she woke up to more presents and then my mom and dad came for a 'birthday lunch'. Gramma had made Taris a lemon cake with lemon icing, as requested (and of course brought presents). After lunch taris had school, so she took some chocolate cupcakes for snack time! We picked Taris up after school and headed for Regina. (gramma and grampa flew out the next morning) We hit Chuckee Cheese for supper and the girls had a great time...unfortunately for the grown-ups they were out of beer. After an overnight at the hotel we arrived home to find more presents which had arrived via the mail. Friday Gramma Mona and Grampa Doug showed up with , you guessed it, more presents! I think the biggest present was the fact that they took Darcie to their house for 2 sleeps!

On Monday was the actual 'birthday party'. Taris and Cade shared the party which was held at the skating rink. All the kids had a blast skating, and running around the rink. After hot dogs and cake who could forget....the presents!! Needless to say I think taris definitely got enough gifts to last her the WHOLE year! Thanks to everyone who thought of her...she really did enjoy all her gifts.
