SPOTS!!
Yesterday I took Taris to the Dr. as she had some funny blister-like spots around her neck. Now, you should know a little background first. The first spot appeared around Monday or Tuesday. I first thought the cat must have scratched her, so really didn't think much of it. Thursday night I noticed one more, Friday morning there were about 4. All still around her neck....not itchy. We arrived in Virden Fri afternoon, my dad took one look and said "She's got Chicken Pox". My reply...no she doesn't, she's had the one spot too long, she's had no fever, and they're not itchy. So off to the Dr. we went. Low and behold the Dr. said, "She's got Chicken Pox"....me, same reply, except I said "I don't think so" and told her why. Well, by the time we left I had her conviced Taris didn't have Chicken Pox. We left with an antibiotic for an upper respitory infection and the diagnosis (or lack of one) that she didn't know what the spots were.
Fast forward to this morning.....Taris has Chicken Pox. There is absolutely no doubt in my mind, the spots are everywhere! So I'm feeling a little bad for the Dr. who was quite stumped, but really, that's what you get for believing a mom in denial!! (Guess we should have listened to Grampa to start with!)

"A bath is successful when the kids get wetter than you do!"

Bathtime around our house is quite the excitement. The girls are excited to bath, I am excited because after bathtime that means it's almost BEDTIME!!!

Flowers vs Kids
I always wondered why on earth would people take pictures of flowers (or other stationary objects) I now realize....it's because they STAY STILL. I'm loving my new camera....I just wish my 'subjects' would stay still! I set them up for the 'perfect' shot...ok ready...Darcie, look here....ok, Taris get your hand away from your face...ok, cheese...no Darcie, look at mommy...just smile normal, Taris...ahhhh. Even though a flower is pretty, and more importantly it stays still, I still prefer to take pictures of people....and who can blame me, look how darn CUTE they are!

Fun at the Zoo
Well, it really wan't a zoo, more a condensed farm where you could pet the animals. We were in Calgary this past weekend and one of the highlights was definitely 'Butterfield Acres'. The kids could pet, interact with and ride (some) the animals. One of the neatest things (I thought) was the sheep...they were just roaming around amongst all the people. It wasn't until after that I was informed (by Larrie of course) that they weren't actually supossed to be roaming free.....didn't I see the employees trying their hardest to round them all up? Guess not....I sure thought it was neat anyway!
Another highlight of the trip was attending Spruce Meadows on Sunday. It just happened to be the CN International which is 'the big one' in the world of horse jumping. Fun was had by all....Darcie didn't come with us but her Auntie Monica and Dixie made sure she had a fun day by taking her to the Calgary Zoo (the big one!)
While in Calgary we were fortunate enough to visit and stay with our good friends the Wakefield's. Taris and Sydney picked up just like they saw each other every day. It's always fun to have a visit with such a great family!
Of course, while we were there, we also had the chance to meet 'baby Remy' who is the girls' new baby cousin.

PLEASE mommy?!?!?!?
6:30am, the first day of playschool, the pitiful sound of my oldest daughter begging, "Please mommy, can I go to school?!?!?" This is the sound I awoke to this morning, being of course, the FIRST DAY OF PLAYSCHOOL!!! never have you seen such an excited 3½ year old! The excitement lasted ALL morning as playschool didn't start until 12:45..(is it after lunch yet??) Needless to say, there were no tears, mom or daughter :-), on this first day of school! After dropping Taris off, Darcie and I came home for a little 'quiet time'...she napping and me downloading many pictures to the computer. I'm sure at 3:15 we will be more than ready to hear all about the first day!
